Advanced Driving
Our driver training has helped thousands of drivers gain additional on-road knowledge and skills, above and beyond what is taught when you learn to drive. So, if you're looking for a driving refresher course, then this could be perfect for you.
Advanced Riding
Our Advanced Rider Course has helped thousands receive motorcycle training of the highest standard. This motorcycle training has helped motorcyclists gain additional on-road knowledge and skills, above and beyond what is taught when you learn to ride.
On-Road Modules
Whilst many drivers consider themselves capable behind the wheel, there may be some areas in which they might need a knowledge or confidence boost. Supporting seven key areas of driving, our On-Road Modules have been created with all driving abilities in mind.

Are you an experienced driver looking to brush up on your skills? Whether you’re looking to ensure your driving is as sharp as it can be, or if you’ve lost a bit of confidence along the way, our Mature Driver Review can help.

Our gift vouchers make the perfect gift for drivers and riders of all abilities. Our courses will give your family member or friend the chance to develop their on-road skills with one of our experts, and our Advanced Courses will grant them full membership to IAM RoadSmart.

Dear IAM RoadSmart Community,
As the festive season approaches, we want to say thank you for your continued commitment to IAM RoadSmart throughout 2023, without you we couldn’t do what we do.
Our local Groups are powered by dedicated volunteers, who provide unparalleled support, experience, and expertise. We rely on the assistance of thousands of volunteers who dedicate their time to enhance road skills for others. Additionally, we appreciate Examiners, Master’s Mentors, Skills Day Instructors and National Observer Assessors are not connected to Local Groups and work diligently behind the scenes under the guidance of Area Service Delivery Managers (ASDMs).
Our Service Delivery team, including Trainers and Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs), form the backbone of our commercial training and Driver Retraining Academy (DRA) courses. From Driving for Work to Taxi Assessments and DRA Virtual Classroom courses, our Trainers provide expert training in challenging environments.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you to our members. Our community of more than 77,000 members empowers us to pursue our mission to educate and upskill drivers and riders to make UK roads safer for all.

Aliz Varga
Meet Aliz, the intrepid motorcycle enthusiast who traded four wheels for the freedom of two. She successfully passed the Advanced Rider Test two years ago and enthusiastically endorses the course for riders of all ages, drawing from her own experiences to emphasise its numerous benefits.
Hugh Raynor
Hugh completed the Advanced Driver Course and became an observer with a passion for driving. His friends, inspired by his success, joined IAM RoadSmart, enabling him to enjoy his sports car safely with Bristol Advanced Motorists' support.
Izaak Southwood
In 2020, a life-altering car accident shattered Izaak's confidence, but IAM RoadSmart's Advanced Driver Course reignited his passion for driving, and now, as an Associate and Observer, Izaak is committed to helping others regain their confidence on the road while promoting road safety.
Gilly Miller
Gilly Miller, a 50-year IAM RoadSmart member, reflects on her journey as an advanced driver and observer. She emphasizes the enduring importance of heightened observation skills and encourages others to consider IAM RoadSmart's advanced driving courses for safer and more enjoyable journeys.
