As the AGM was scheduled for 10am today Pete organised a shorter ride leaving Monks Cross at 11.30. After briefing the six riders registered for the ride we left Sainsburys, crossing over the A64 by bridge (avoiding the coastal traffic queues) and circled via Murton and Bossall to swing back round across the A64 again and towards Castle Howard. On through Amotherby and up the lovely road to meet the A170 turning left to the industrial estate and Shed 30 cafe where as the timings were 1.5 hours behind normal a lunch stop was planned.
A slight panic as we seemed to have arrived as they were planning to close but a quick look at six hungry bikers and they soon realised they could stay open a bit longer.
With hunger pangs quashed we set off again with our intrepid leader heading north over the moors for a venue that is more or less due south from here? Nevertheless Pete had our complete faith and he produced a very entertaining second half up Blakey Ridge, circling via Danby and Glaisdale before turning south again. All the way down to Thornton le Dale where turning left we rode to Allerston, through Yedingham crossing the A64 again and following the trusted route up to Sledmere and down the twisty road to Fimber Cafe. Tea and cake all round.
Thanks Pete for an excellent short day ride
