Team 5 is the name given to the fun, social side of YAM and you can join as soon as you’ve passed your IAM test. We organise regular rides on Saturdays and other social events including a Christmas get together.
Our usual meeting point is Squires Café on Saturday mornings. We congregate for a chat, bite to eat or a drink, and then ride out in organised groups from about 10am. Due to the pandemic rules, during 2020 & 2021, our rides started at various other locations instead, to allow us to comply with the IAM and government guidance in place at the time. Now restrictions have eased we generally meet at Squires but rides do also start from other location. Therefore, before heading to Squires to see us please do check the Ride Registration page to see where this Saturday's ride leaves from. It's been really great to meet up again as a group as we get to see Associates and their Observers again and spread the word about Team 5!
We offer full and half day rides with planned stops, designated leaders, back markers and a drop-off system that keeps everyone organised. The great thing about riding in a group with Team 5 is that you can put your well-earned skills into practice and keep developing new ones with like-minded riders – we’ve all done the same training! You might discover some new routes too - always a bonus.
Easy - go to the Rides section as there you'll find all the bits that you do actually have to
read so you can ride out with us. From there you'll be able to go to the Registrations page and sign up. Rides are open to all Team 5
members.
