As many of you will know by now, Pete Tidball is standing back from leading Team 5 after over a decade of involvement.
Pete has done so much to make T5 what it is today. He has played a major part in encouraging group riding excellence by means of pre-ride briefings, risk assessments and check rides. His communication skills, thinking of start and end of term meetings for example, have helped us all fly in formation. And behind all that there is the record keeping and administration (our thanks are due to Ian McNeill here too for all the IT input) which has been made much more complicated recently with Covid. He has been the life and soul of the party both literally and metaphorically and no doubt will continue to be so albeit in a less official capacity.
He is leaving T5 management in fine fettle. The T5 Working Group, with a few new members, continues to oversee T5 activity and links with the training team via the main YAM committee. It is hoped that Jude Eason will represent the T5WG on the committee when Peter steps down at the AGM in June.
So, on behalf of all of us at YAM, thanks Pete, and we look forward to seeing you on many rides out in the future.
Don Graham
YAM Chairman
