Leader: Paul Rushton, Back Marker: Tim Andrews.
A quick briefing from Paul and we were off up the A1M/M1 to the Wetherby turnoff as it was going to be a long ride today. Bypassing Wetherby then heading East through Cowthorpe, Cattal, Whixley, over the toll bridge at Aldwark then on through Alne, Easingwold to Coxwold where we hung a right to Bylands Abbey and a left to pick up the road to Kilburn before turning right again up the winding road to Sutton Bank Gliding Club for the T&P break.
Ian, who had been doing a check-ride for Adam Meek, left at this point and Paul led the ride on to the coast.
After leaving the gliding club we turned off down towards Reveux Abbey on the back roads eventually hitting the Helmsley road. In Helmsley we turned left and headed on the brandsdale where we encountered a couple of interesting sheep 2 gates and Mark thought it would be good to investigate some gravel. Adam mentioned that he could do with some hill work so we sped off to Chimney back over the tops to Egton and onto Sandsend for lunch. The few that were left wanted some more hills so through Littlebeck over the moors and back to Fimber Karen did her usual and got lost from the pack but arrived home safely. Thanks to Tim for been back marker.
