Adam Meek’s Continuation Training Ride

Myself and two other T5 members were interspersed between Adam Meek - who led the ride - and two other Observers: Steve Harrison and Dave Howse. After an informal briefing on the aim, the route and the normal safety procedures, we set off from Thorp Arch to Boroughbridge via Whixley, Thornton Hill and Great Ouseburn. At Boroughbridge, Adam and the Observers informed us of some recent amendments to IAM’s techniques, and the subsequent route was chosen to facilitate the exact scenarios we had just discussed. The ride ended at Fimber, where we discussed what we had practiced and the virtue of the new system. Just following an Observer was a useful experience in itself, and all members felt that the ride provided valuable top-tips, support and encouragement and hoped that the experience could be repeated in the near future.
