TD Ride to Masham - 10th August - John Coe

Posted on 16/08/19 |
A very good turn out for both rides, fortunately for me, 7 of us set off heading in the direction of Boroughbridge T & P, and then onto Masham, the OD group led by Paul headed for the TD via a much more interesting route, hence the attraction for more of T5.

So, out of Squires turning right, and then onward towards, Lotherton Hall, Towton, Tadcaster, up Wighill Lane, ( sounds all very familiar 👍), the Roman Road, Cattal, and a left and a right on the A59, appeared straight forward enough for Whitley, however, Chris Hill’s camouflaged ridding gear did it’s job, as he did mark the junction but the next rider missed him and headed toward the A1.
Fortunately, Dave Mitchell ( back marker ), saved the day and rounded them up, and we were back on track.
From then onwards to, Little Ouseburn ( past the Speed Camera Van on the B6265 ), Great Ouseburn, Lower Dunforth and Aldborough to Plenty Cafe in Boroughbridge for the T&P stop.TDRide10019

Two of the group headed off homeward, whilst the balance of the group set off ( suitably refreshed ), for Masham, towards Thornton bridge, and a round about route, via Sessay, Dalton, Topcliffe, left at the A61 to Skipton-on-Swale, and then onto the B6267 to Ainderby Quernhow, and to Masham.

A day which proved that if I can do a lead, anyone can do it, so don’t be shy and sign up for a lead in your lifetime, as there is support / encouragement a plenty from members of T5.
