OD Ride - 10th August - Masham - Paul Rushton

   Although the weather forecast was not good, a decent number of riders turned out at Squires for the usual Saturday rides ( some had turned up for the Rock weekend that was also being held at Squires ) and after some thought Paul decided that Masham was a good starting point to see how the day went, so 8 riders lined up at the gate ( A new T5er joined us, sorry forgot his name, but “Ducati John” likes him as he also rides a Ducati, we'll get him onto the dark side I'm sure, we've already got Phil Marshall :}:}:} )

  So off we go turning Right out of squires and off to Aberford, Barwick in Elmet , Scholes and a Left / Right at the A64 saw us heading toward Thornton, then a left up toward the Cole Road then had us cutting across the A58, we hit East Keswick ( Not Literately ) and out to Harewood, a decent pace kept up by all, onto the A658 before joining the B6161 heading over Lindley Wood reservoir toward the Sun Inn and the A59, cutting over to Thurcross and onto the steep twisty Nought Bank Hill and down into Patley Bridge and that Tricky Right Turn into the Teacups car park for a nice cup of tea.

   After the Tea stop, we dropped down to 6 as Chris Otter & Ian McNeil headed off, we headed through Patley Bridge and up onto the moors ( Nidderdale OANB )

Nidderdale, historically also known as Netherdale,[1] is one of the Yorkshire Dales (although outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park) in North Yorkshire, England. It is the upper valley of the River Nidd, which flows south underground and then along the dale, forming several reservoirs including the Gouthwaite Reservoir, before turning east and eventually joining the River Ousue

  and at a good pace we headed over to Kirkby Malzeard,  Grewelthorpe and Masham where we met up with John Coe and his TD Ride group and some of the Observers and associates, the weather managed to stay mainly dry ( just the odd little shower ) and although windy it was not as strong as forecast, A great ride as usual with Paul and thanks to Adam for keeping an aye on us from the back.
