8 T5-ers set off on a nice sunny day for the short ride from Squires to Whitley which would take about 15 minutes tops if we went straight there. But no, about 67 miles of winding country lanes taking in Fairford, Birkin, Hambleton, Cawood, Naburn and the ever-popular Strawberry Fields cafe for a mid-ride break,
Suitably refreshed we headed south to Skipwith, North Duffield, Howden, Airmyn, a loop past the towers of Drax to arrive at the George and Dragon about 12:30 as planned. With the weather threatening the group departed in dribs and drabs, and speaking personally, I got a good wetting on the way home.
