Members Flying Event
In June a flying event was held at Wellesbourne Mountford Airfield near Stratford on Avon. The event was held on Tuesday 7th June and Sunday 19th June. Two dates were chosen to allow either a midweek or a weekend attendance. The event was hosted by the South Warwickshire Flying School and we are indebted to the Instructors for their friendly and professional care.
Seven members took part on the Tuesday while seven members accompanied by three guests took part on the Sunday. All participants agreed that their flights had been both exciting and enjoyable. Most stated that they would like to try it again. The weather on Tuesday was sunny and warm, which added to the overall enjoyment. The weather on Sunday was also mostly sunny, but an approaching thunderstorm was forecast. In fact the rain started just as the last flyer stepped out of the plane.
Based on the success of this event we plan to repeat it next year.
