Following the Scottish government guidelines on car sharing The group have been notified by IAM RoadSmart that all Observed drives have to be postponed meantime for the welfare of all our volunteer Observers and also that our Associates, we will be monitoring all advice from IAM RoadSmart and that of the Scottish Government restrictions.
The committee of the Edinburgh Group hope that you and your family are all well and safe during these unprecedented times.
As you might be aware, the AGM for 2019 – 2020 Edinburgh and District Group of Advanced Motorists, which was due to be held on the 29TH March 2020, had to be postponed. This postponement, which was forced by the lock-down measures introduced throughout the United Kingdom, will also have similarly affected other IAM RoadSmart affiliated Groups.
The Group committee sought guidance from IAM RoadSmart. Permission was given to postpone the AGM for a maximum of up to 6 months.
We had anticipated that the lockdown measures would be lifted in time for the AGM to take place at one of our usual meeting places.
However, even with lock-down strictures being eased somewhat, it is not feasible to have a physical meeting, as the current social-distancing rules precludes such a gathering of people.
Accordingly, the committee, having noted that other Groups have successfully held virtual AGM meetings, have agreed that we should hold an on-line AGM. The date set for this meeting will be the 9th September 2020 @ 7:15pm.
The online media will be via the ‘ZOOM’ platform, software for which is readily available free-of charge for non-registered participants.
All relevant notifications and the appropriate ZOOM log-in details will be sent out week commencing the 17th August 2020.
