Taxi and Private Hire Assessment

How your assessment is delivered

After you have purchased your Taxi Assessment, your details are forwarded to your allocated Assessor who will be in touch to book your assessment within 5-10 working days after contact.

You and your Assessor will arrange a convenient time and date to complete your assessment. This will be at a location convenient to you.

The vehicle you use on the assessment must be fit for use on public roads, and must have current and valid insurance, MOT, and road tax. You will. You will be required to complete an eye test by reading a standard number plate from a distance of 20 metres in daylight. If you require the use of glasses or contact lenses to do this you will be required to wear them during your assessment.

Upon successful completion of your assessment, you will be issued with a certificate together with a copy of your assessment form. You will need to submit this bespoke certificate to the Local Authority in order to progress your application for a Private Hire or Hackney Licence.
