Every ride leader likes to hear the words "I have no idea where we've been" and "I've never never been on those roads before". And so it was I was pleased to hear both those sentences on the ride today. The territory between Squires and Stump Cross is well known to most YAM-ers so it was a challenge to find some new roads and make sure all riders in the group thought they were thoroughly lost!.
The half-way stop was at a very busy Plenty cafe in Boroughbridge where the cyclists were out in force. Kate had to leave us then so the rest of us took to the back roads around Minskip Bishop Monkton, Markington, Studeley, Kirkby Malzeard and finally Pateley Bridge to arrive at Stump Cross in the un-forecasted rain.
Thanks to all who stuck with it despite the poor weather towards the end.
