Course overview

As a driver of a larger vehicle, you are used to manoeuvring around busy traffic and tight road restrictions. This is what makes you a skilled and efficient driver.

Our LGV Exemption Course allows you to join IAM RoadSmart without going on our Advanced Driving Course.

We welcome professional drivers from a variety of industries, and we firmly believe that advanced driving skills are a crucial part to improving road safety and reducing the number of collisions that happen daily on the UK’s roads.

IAM Members receive regular charity updates, a regular Members magazine, invites to skills days (hosted on race circuits), exclusive member discounts on various products including advantageous car, motorcycle & home insurance products.

To become a Member by Exemption you need to have one of these professional driver qualifications:

• Appliance Driver Training

• All blue light training courses (Level 3 CERAD or equivalent)
• Instructors Certificate (Level 4 DERAD or equivalent)

• EFAD

• EFAD

• Advanced Driver Course
