The nights are drawing in and there’s a chill in the air – autumn and winter are on their way. Below are ourtips for prepping your car for the coming seasons.
- Take a look at your tyres. Leaves + rain = slippery roads. To help you drive in these trickier conditions it’s vital that you check the tread on your tyres, and ensure the pressure is correct.
- Clean the windows. Autumn and winter means the sun is lower in the sky, which can dazzle you.Keep the windscreen and windows clean for good visibility, and don't forget the inside too. Make sure you also take the time to check your wiper blades.
- Be battery aware. Batteries have to work harder in autumn and winter in order to start your vehicle. Check your battery’s condition and if necessary replace it. You may want to consider a maintenance charger to keep the battery well conditioned.
- Check your lights. You may not have used your lights for months, so before your first dark drive make sure all the bulbs are still working.
- Consider a sealant. You might want to seal the outside of your car to give the paint protection from mud, water, salt and debris.
