We have arranged a trip to the Essex Skid Pan on the above date starting at 1pm. The 3hour event is open to all Group members, Associates and friends.
COST: £60.00 per person

All skid pan instructors are ex Police advanced drivers. They provide their own cars and all they require is that you have a full driving licence. A minimum of 6 months practical on-road experience would be ideal but not essential. Heading the team is Mike Carter. His previous role was the Chief Instructor of the Home Office Approved Essex Police Driving School and as such, he was one of those Heads of Regional Police Driving Schools that set the standard for National Police Advanced Driving.

Skids don't just happen; they are caused when a tyre loses its grip on the road surface normally through excessive speed, harsh braking or acceleration by the driver. In snow, icy or wet conditions, statistics show in over half of the accidents that skidding was a primary cause.
The first time most people experience a skid is when it is actually happening to them! Most people's natural reaction is to panic or freeze which is the worse thing you can do. The Skid Pan Experience combines fun with safety in a secure controlled environment. It will sensitize your reflexes to a skid (vehicle out of control, unstable condition) and enable your reflexes to respond, while your mind is otherwise still thinking about it.
Light refreshments are provided and there are restaurant facilities within a short distance.
