My life as a Copper!

A talk by Alan Hiscox:Director of Safety forThe British Horse Society

You are invited to the February meeting of Bristol Advanced Motorists when retired Police Officer Alan Hiscox will be talking to us about his life as a mounted policemen - or as Alan puts it "My life as a Copper"!

Alan retired from the Metropolitan Mounted Police as the Chief Equestrian Officerafter spending 32 years in the Force, 26 of them in the mounted division.

He has taken clinics and seminars to teach mounted training and tactics to police units in Europe, USA, Canada and South Africa and was the Ride Leader of the Police Display Team for 14 years performing at Olympia, Horse of the Year Show as well as abroad.

Having taken part in ceremonialevents, serious public disorder events, including football matches, Alan will explain the passion, professionalism and sometimes pantomime that he has experienced whilst on a police horse in London. He will also tell you how police horses are trained and the amazing job these animals do every day.

Alan is now Director of Safety for the British Horse Society and heads-up the 'Dead Slow' safety campaign.
