Roadworks/resurfacing – St Helens Road, Bolton
We are writing to inform you about carriageway resurfacing and drainage work on St Helens Road/ Derby St (between Deane Church Lane and University Way).
The works are due to start week commencing 1st April 2024 and will take approximately 4 weeks to complete, weather permitting. During the works temporary traffic signals will be in operation to enable the works to be undertaken. Access to properties will be maintained, however there will be times during the works when access will be restricted. During the works can residents please keep St Helens Rd/ Derby St clear of vehicles during the working day to enable the works to be undertaken.
The Council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused to local residents and road users, but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum. Your patience would be appreciated during this time. As you are aware, construction sites are dangerous places. May we ask you to be vigilant during this period to ensure that people, and particularly children, do not try to gain entry into the working area. If you would like any further information about this scheme, please contact us at highways@bolton.gov.uk
Yours faithfully
Highways Business Support Team
Ed: This will no doubt make other roads in the area much busier, particularly Wigan Road / Deane Road. Also probably a road to be avoided by Observers on a Sunday morning!!
