A big festive thank you!
This December, IAM RoadSmart want to acknowledge and give a big festive thank you to all those who make our organisation what it is – a network of hardworking, committed members, volunteers, groups, trainers & ADIs, commercial clients and more!
As well as lots of "thank-yous", we’ll be running competitions, hints, and tips and more, so check back every day between the 1st – 12th of December.
We’ve also created a Christmas e-card which you can send to family and friends for free.
Thank You To Our Members
Our community of 80,000+ members include people of all ages from across the UK. There are multiple ways of becoming a member, the most popular being through our Advanced courses.
We also have around 3,400 members who are Member by Exemption (MBE), which means they hold a professional motoring qualification so don't need to do our Advanced test. We value MBE members for sharing their knowledge and applying their experiences by becoming Observers or Examiners.

IAM RoadSmart gift vouchers make the perfect gift for drivers and riders of all abilities. Our courses will give your family member or friend the chance to develop their on-road skills with one of our experts, and our Advanced Courses will grant them a year’s full membership to IAM RoadSmart.
For Advanced Courses or our Mature Driver review, you can choose between an e-voucher or physical gift voucher which will be sent through the post. Simply choose the one that’s most suitable for you.

IAM RoadSmart has around 180 groups across the UK, allowing members to meet like-minded people, share ideas and develop their skills. Our groups, all run by volunteers, represent a unique support with unparalleled experience and expertise.
IAM RoadSmart couldn’t exist without the help of thousands of dedicated volunteers who give their time to help others improve their skills.

As well as our risk management services for business fleets, we work closely with local authority Safer Roads Partnerships, PCCs and other organisations that share our vision to make the roads safer for all.

Thank you to all our trainers
Our committed Service Delivery team includes over 100 trainers across our commercial training and Driver Retraining Academy (DRA) courses.
Our commercial courses include Driving for Work, Taxi assessments, on-roads modules, classroom and virtual courses. We couldn’t run these courses without the trainers, who are the public face of IAM RoadSmart commercial, dealing with drivers one-to-one through high skill level training whilst in challenging environments.
Our DRA delivers Drink-Drive Rehabilitation (DDR) courses to convicted drink drivers in England and Wales.
Our committed trainers have enabled us to support over 4,000 clients throughout 2022 to return to our roads as safer driver and riders. Our DDR trainers deal with a diverse range of clients, supporting and facilitating a change in behaviour
Through a non-judgemental, confidential approach we support our clients over a 3-day course within the DVSA guidelines.

Mental Health Motorbike (MHM) is a free mental health first aid support charity, providing meaningful and purposeful opportunities to grow the wellbeing of the motorbike community. Their organisational focus is to reduce suicide amongst bikers in the UK, through a network of dedicated trained Mental Health First Aiders.
Founded in March 2020 in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mental Health Motorbike set out to provide support in a period where mental health saw a dramatic spike due to the lockdown restrictions.
MHM officially became a recognised charity at the end of 2021, growing their organisation to 28 volunteer staff, 150 qualified Mental Health First Aiders, 35 Ambassadors and 18 online moderators and as of May 2022, almost 1700 members.
We’ve been hearing from some of their members who have shared how they ‘manage’ Christmas, to offer help for others, whether you ride, drive or don’t have a vehicle.

2022 has been a busy year here at IAM RoadSmart! We’ve welcomed a new CEO, implemented a new strategic framework, welcomed over 5,000 new members, hosted 17 Skills Days and 7 Autumn Forums.
